HPE StoreVirtual 4730
Storage Device
In the Centralized Management Console, the HP StoreVirtual 4730 SAS Storage systems may display an overload condition while generating drive status change notifications every minute (CMC). The drive in bay 25 is added to the RAID sets as a global hot spare when RAID is set up on an HP StoreVirtual 4730 Storage system. The RAID controller may take up to 30 seconds to switch the spare drive from the hot spare mode to the rebuilding mode when an active drive fails. The Disk Setup tab of the CMC displays the spare drive's state as "Hot Spare Down" and "Uninitialized" alternately every few seconds if it is removed during the 30-second transition period. The monitoring software may transmit drive status change updates every minute as a result of the frequent drive status events that may result from this.
