The Hitachi Lightning Disk Array system, which is a component of the Hitachi Lightning 9900V Series, enables the consolidation of enormous amounts of storage in a multi-cabinet by scaling without interruption to over 140TB and simultaneously supporting open systems and mainframe servers in direct-attached storage or networked configurations. The Hitachi 9980V has a mirrored cache, redundant, online-replaceable active components, and continuous data protection. In addition to scalable backup and restoration capabilities, the 9980V offers point-in-time copies for disaster recovery, tapeless data vaulting, data warehousing and data mining, or application testing.
