Hitachi USP

The Hitachi Universal Storage Platform USP VM disc storage system integrates data and storage services over 96 petabytes (PB) of storage and offers up to 1.2 million IOPS. Through a single management interface, the Hitachi USP VM enables resource-efficient thin provisioning with Hitachi Dynamic Provisioning software, virtualization and thin provisioning of internal and external storage, logical resource partitioning, and unified data replication across heterogeneous storage systems. The parallel crossbar switch architecture of the Hitachi Universal Star NetworkTM powers the Hitachi Universal Storage Platform VM. The platform allows using file, object, or block-based storage assets from Hitachi Data Systems and other providers with standard storage services, including virtualization, thin provisioning, and business continuity. The USP VM supports internal and external virtualized storage with Hitachi Dynamic Provisioning software, which also helps lower power and cooling costs by streamlining storage administration and enhancing performance.
